Hailing from the central part of Pennsylvania, Young and Heartless bring us the Death In Color EP. With these four songs, they've managed to merge heartfelt lyrics with a catchy, punchy back-bone that'll have you immediately going back for more. On the exterior, these four tracks infectiously mold together the best parts of the modern day emo, pop-punk and indie rock scene that we've all come to love and appreciate. But upon further listens, a strong sense of nostalgia becomes apparent, bringing you back to all the good and the bad you've experienced that has made you who you are today.
The song "Broken English" introduces you to this EP with an energetic punch of driving guitars and drums that can't be ignored. From there, the songs "Ghost Pity" and "Never Left" seem to mellow the mood, but without ever losing their sense of honesty and urgency that Young and Heartless have mastered so well. Finally, they round out this EP with a pounding mid-tempo closer about growing old that will linger in your mind for days.
If the masterful song-writing and catchiness of these songs doesn't have you hooked immediately, the honest lyrics and earnest vocal delivery will.
