Suns may be a young band, but they are certainly the shining stars of Connecticut’s currently booming indie/emo scene. Clocking in at just under 30 minutes, the 9 songs on The Engine Room bring you dissonant bursts of guitar work, atmospherically moody odes, all perfectly accented by catchy and memorable riffs from guitarist Peter Katz. Over all this, lead singer Will Rutledge brings you a refined and eloquent sense of lyricism focusing on bitterness and lost love. This album starts out with the quiet ballad entitled Repulse, and only continues to grow throughout. One listen is never enough.
